View your billing analytics
Updated over 2 months ago

The Analytics > Billing page allows organization and branch admins to view and track SMS message usage across all of their messaging accounts as it relates to billing. Admins can use this page to track their organization’s SMS message allowance and usage for their current or previous contract terms.

View your overall billing usage

Note: Customers on legacy plans may have a different billing analytics page layout. You will still be able to view your Usage by account, but won’t see an Overall usage section.

The Overall usage section provides a summary of your SMS usage per contract term. Use the Contract term dropdown menu to select which term you’d like to view data for. You’ll be able to choose from your current term and any previous terms.

On the top right of the page, you can also use the As of: calendar to select the last date that you want included in your data. By default, this is set to the day before the current date but can be set to any date after the start of your contract term to view your usage up until that date only.

For the term and dates selected, you will then be able to view the dates of your contract term and the number of days remaining in that term. Below that information, you can view your SMS message allowance, SMS messages sent, and how many messages you have left within your allowance within this term.

You can also view which, if any, premium features are included in your contract under Contract premium features.

Note: If your usage exceeds your SMS message allowance, you will be subject to overage fees per your agreement. If you are nearing your contracted allowance within your term, please reach out to your Account Manager or Account Executive to discuss your options.

View usage by account

Usage by account displays your Total messages sent and SMS messages used per each of your accounts. By default this data is for your entire term to date. To choose a specific month to view data for, use the Time period dropdown menu on the top right of the table.

Note: Keep in mind that the number of messages sent and the number of SMS messages used from an account may be different, since a single message may count as multiple SMS messages for billing purposes. For more information on why this is, please see What are SMS messages and how do they affect billing?.

Export your billing data

Export all data

You can export all your billing data to your email inbox by clicking the Export Data button on the top right corner of the page. This button will export two different CSV files: your overall usage and your usage by account.

Your overall usage will contain all the information displayed in the Overall usage section of this page, including your selected contract term, as of date, SMS message allowance, SMS messages sent, SMS messages left within your allowance, and any premium licenses you have applied to your account.

Your usage by account will contain the information displayed in the Usage by account section of this page, including your selected time period, account name, parent account for that account, total messages sent, and SMS messages used.

Export usage by account data only

You can export just your usage by account data by clicking the envelope iconabove the Usage by account table, or schedule the data to be exported to your email inbox by clicking the calendar icon . Admins may choose to have this report scheduled for them at regular billing intervals for tracking purposes. This export will only include your usage by account, and not your overall usage.
