When the same individual is stored multiple times in TextUs—especially with the same phone number—users may message the wrong version, miss prior interactions, or double-message contacts. Removing duplicates from your contact list prevents these inefficiencies in workflows and ensures clean data for reporting.
Note: Duplicate contacts with an exact match on primary phone number will appear listed under the primary contact. When duplicates are removed, any associated conversations will be connected to the primary contact instead.
To identify and remove duplicate contacts from your contact list, complete the following steps:
Click the Contacts tab.
Under Manage Contacts on the bottom left corner of the screen, click Detected Duplicates.
The page will now display a list of all your duplicate contacts. If the contact entries are under different names, both names will be shown.
Select the check box next to the duplicates that you want to delete. To select all, click the check box at the top of the list to the left of the Name column title.
To delete all selected duplicates, click Remove Duplicates. Please note that this action cannot be undone.
