SMS Billing for Inbound
Starting November 1st 2026, the SMS Segments you receive count toward your SMS Segment allowance, along with the SMS Segments you send. Billing analytics has been updated so you can see both.
The following changes are now available on the Analytics > Billing page for direct TextUs customers:
SMS Segments sent and received: A new tile at the top of your plan overview shows your combined total, how it breaks down between sent and received, and your usage pacing against your allowance.
Usage by account: The graph now shows SMS Segments sent, SMS Segments received, and Total SMS Segments.
Export account usage: Your account usage CSV now includes SMS Segments received and Total SMS Segments for each messaging account.
Usage alerts: The 85% and 100% allowance alert emails are now based on your combined total of SMS Segments sent and received.
We've also updated our wording across billing analytics and usage alert emails. What we previously called "SMS messages" are now called SMS Segments. This is a name change only for Bullhorn Messaging users, whose allowance continues to count sent SMS Segments only.
