Create a campaign recipient list using tags
Updated over 9 months ago

Tags help you organize your contacts and allow you to quickly add contacts to a Campaign, Group, or Sequence using batch actions.

Add a tag to a contact

To add a tag to a contact, go to the Contacts tab, click the contact’s name or phone number to open the Contact Details pop up, then click the pencil icon.

On the Edit Contacts view, enter one or two words associated with the contact in the Add or Create Tags field. For example, “sales” or "account executive". Click Submit to save your changes.

Tip: You can also add or edit tags via a CSV file that contains your contact’s existing information with updated tags. See Add Contacts for more information.

Create a campaign recipient list using tags

To create a campaign using tags, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Contacts tab, go to the search bar and enter the tag group using the following format:

    • For tags with one word: tags:sales

    • For tags with more than one word: tags:"account executive"

  2. Select one or more contacts, then click the Send Campaign icon to send a new campaign to the selected contacts.

  3. On the Select Recipients menu, click Next to add your contacts to the campaign.

  4. Enter a Title and a message for the campaign. You can use the message options to add any customizations you’d like, such as your signature, emojis, or personalizations.

  5. Click Next.

  6. On the Review and Send page, review the message preview for your campaign, then complete the following steps:

    • Use the Date and Time drop downs to schedule when your campaign message will be sent. If you want your campaign to send immediately, leave the settings at the default date and time.

    • Use the Assign me to campaign conversations toggle to be automatically assigned to the campaign-related conversations. This setting allows you to easily view any campaign responses directly in your inbox.

  7. Click Send Campaign.
