How to release SMS on Vonage numbers

If your phone number is set up for SMS with Vonage, we can assist you in releasing it for use in the TextUs platform. To get started, follow the steps below and contact our TextUs Support or your Sales Representative if you have any questions.

  1. Contact your direct Account Representative at Vonage.

  2. Let them know that you are using TextUs and that the SMS portion of your number needs to be released so that TextUs can SMS enable the number on our end.

  3. Your Account Representative may ask you to confirm that you are not leaving Vonage for another phone provider. You can inform them that you would still like to use Vonage for voice, but you need to be able to text through TextUs.

  4. Your Account Representative will release the SMS portion of your Vonage phone number.

  5. After Vonage has released the SMS portion of your phone number, contact TextUs to SMS enable the number so that you can use it with the TextUs platform.

Note: Make sure that you contact your Account Representative at Vonage directly, not the support line.
