For users who want to release the SMS on their phone numbers after cancelling their TextUs account, we are sad to see you go! However, we aim to make the departure process as easy as possible. After filling out your cancellation information, and having the information accepted by the Customer Experience team, we will note the date and time you are leaving TextUs.

At that time your numbers will be SMS released. This means that we will remove all of our configurations on your TextUs numbers so that you can use SMS with another provider if you choose.

If you received the phone number from TextUs, then you most likely have a virtual number. If you have a virtual number and would like to transfer your number to a new platform, you will need to contact your new provider to initiate a port request.

Note: We cannot assist with port requests after the cancellation date. Port requests must be initiated by your new provider at least two weeks prior to your cancellation date.
