How to port virtual numbers to TextUs
Updated over a week ago

If you purchased and provisioned your SMS phone numbers with a previous provider before moving over to TextUs, you may need to port your virtual numbers to be able to use TextUs services.

To port a virtual number to TextUs, you will need to complete the following steps:

  1. Check eligibility: Make a list of the virtual phone numbers you want to port and confirm with your current provider that these numbers need to be ported and are virtual numbers. Most virtual numbers can be ported, but there might be exceptions.

  2. Gather required information: Your current carrier's provider will send you a number transfer PIN (typically four digits in length). You will need to this PIN to complete the transfer to the new service provider. Note that it can take your provider a few weeks to provide you with a PIN.

  3. Contact TextUs Support: When you are ready to the porting process, submit a ticket to TextUs Support. You will also need to inform your TextUs Account Executive or Manager so they can provide you with a Letter of Authorization (LOA) to sign within 30 days of the port.

After you have completed the steps above, the TextUs Support team will start the porting process. At a minimum, porting a virtual number takes two weeks to complete after TextUs has received all the necessary details.
