Updated over 5 months ago

The TextUs integration for Salesforce supports the following features:

  • Send and receive two-way text messages with contacts and leads in your Salesforce account using the TextUs Chrome extension.

  • Increase engagement with rich texting features such as message templates, rich media, short links, and more.

  • Import phone numbers from Salesforce into TextUs using the TextUs Chrome extension.

  • Log your team’s text conversations in TextUs back to Salesforce Contact and Lead records.

Install the TextUs Chrome extension

Before you start using the TextUs for Salesforce integration, you'll need to download and install the TextUs Chrome extension in your Chrome web browser. For more information, see Install the TextUs Chrome extension.

Note: For note logging support, please ensure your organization admin has configured the Salesforce integration in your TextUs organization settings.

Supported Pages

The TextUs Chrome extension supports the following Salesforce record types and list views:

  • Contacts

  • Leads

Tip: A list view is a page in Salesforce that displays multiple contacts or leads in a table or list. You can use list views to bulk-import contacts, or when you want to send the same message or campaign to multiple contacts at a time.

How to use the TextUs Chrome extension with Salesforce

See the sections below for more information about how to use the TextUs Chrome extension with Salesforce.

Import and message contacts with the Find Numbers feature

The Find Numbers feature extracts any name and phone number information on a supported Salesforce list view or page view, then displays the information on the Imported Contacts menu.

You can then use batch actions to send targeted text messages, campaigns, or enroll contacts in a sequence (available with Automation licenses only).

Message contacts with Click-to-Text

The Click-to-Text feature allows you to click the phone number link of any Salesforce contact or lead with a TextUs logo next to it, then create a text message conversation in the TextUs Chrome extension with the recipient’s contact information prefilled.

Disable Click-to-Text

To disable the Click-to-Text feature, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the extensions icon in your Google Chrome browser, then select Options.

  1. On the TexUs Next Extension pop up, use the toggle to turn Disable phone number linking off.

  2. Close the TextUs Next Extension pop up.

  3. On the My extensions page, under Site Access, select On all sites from the dropdown menu.

  4. Refresh the webpage in Salesforce. The Click-to-Text feature is now disabled.

View conversation history in Salesforce

Your Salesforce integration automatically logs all text conversations back to the corresponding Contact and Lead records. This allows your team to keep track of text communications and view previous TextUs conversations in one place.

You can view logged messages under the Activity tab on a Contact or Lead’s profile. Each activity includes the message direction (inbound or outbound), message details, user details, and timestamps.
