Keyword answers allow you to add an additional level to your keyword flows by creating a set of possible replies that trigger their own individual pre-written messages. After a contact sends in the initial keyword, they can then be guided to send in a keyword answer, or secondary keyword, in order to get an even more personalized response.
The following exchange is an example of this kind of flow:
In this example, the main keyword is JOB, and there are three possible keyword answers: SALES, MARKETING, and PRODUCT. Each keyword answer has its own automated message, allowing businesses to provide uniquely relevant information, capture specific interests, and even conduct polls.
Note: This feature is only available for messaging accounts with a Keywords license. To apply a license you've already purchased, see Assign premium feature licenses.
For more information on how to purchase a license, contact your TextUs Account Manager or Account Executive, or submit a form and let us know you're interested in Automation.
Create a keyword answer
To add a keyword answer to your keyword flow, first either create a new keyword or click edit on an existing keyword. On the New automation or Edit automation pages respectively, locate and click the Add keyword answer button.
This will open a Keyword answer section, where you can input the following:
Your keyword answer, or what the contact should reply with in order to trigger this additional response (e.g., SALES from the above example)
The automated message that should be sent in response to that keyword answer
Optionally, if contacts who respond with this keyword answer should be enrolled in a sequence
After entering this information, click Create (or Save, if you’re editing an existing keyword) to create your keyword answer.
On a single keyword, you can add up to 20 keyword answers. Please note that each keyword answer must be present in the response message for your initial keyword (i.e., “SALES” must be present in the initial response to JOB in order to be a keyword answer under JOB).
View keyword answers analytics
To see how many people have responded with each of your keyword answers, click on the initial keyword. On the Overview page for that keyword, you can see the total number of keyword answers that have been received (Total answers) as well as a visual breakdown of the amount of times each keyword answer has been received.
For the above example, there has only been one response and they responded with the SALES keyword answer.
