Sending messages with the TextUs Chrome Extension
Updated over a week ago

You can send a message and start a conversation in the TextUs Chrome extension either with an existing contact, or by first importing a contact with the Find Numbers feature.

Send a new message using quick compose

To send a message to an existing contact, go to the Inbox menu, click the Compose Message icon. In the To: field at the top of the message composer, enter the contact's name or phone number, then select the correct contact record.

Write your message in the empty text box and use the message options toolbar to add your signature, emojis, or a template to your message. Click the three-dot menu to access other message options such as personalizations and more. When you are ready to send the message, click Send.

Schedule a message to send later

When you create a draft message in a conversation, you can schedule a date and time to deliver the message by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the Send button, and select Send Later. Then select the date and time you want the message to send, then click Schedule.

To view your scheduled messages, click the filter icon and select the My scheduled folder. For multi-user accounts, use the Other Scheduled folder to view your colleague’s scheduled messages.

Send a message using Find Numbers

Open your CRM or ATS application in a Google Chrome browser. On a supported webpage that displays your contacts’ names and phone numbers, click the Find Numbers icon on the TextUs Chrome extension.

On the list of contacts that displays, select up to ten contacts, click the three-dot menu, then select Send Message.

Note: If you select more than ten contacts, you'll only be able to send a campaign.

Send a message using click-to-text

Click-to-text is a feature that allows you to click the TextUs icon that appears next to a contact's phone number to quickly text that number or contact directly.

Note: Click-to-text is only supported for the Salesforce, Bullhorn, and Microsoft Dynamics integrations. For this feature to work, you will also need to ensure you have click-to-text enabled within your Extension Options.

To use this feature to send a message, click the TextUs icon next to a contact's phone number. If you do not have an existing conversation with this contact, a new conversation will open. From here, you can type in your message, or select from the message options to use emojis, templates, or more.

If you have multiple contacts with a matching phone number, you may need to select the correct contact record before you're able to send a message.

Send a message in an existing conversation

If you want to send a message in an existing conversation, you can do so by selecting that conversation within your inbox to open it.

To more easily find an existing conversation, you can use the search function to search conversations. You can also click the Open Menu icon within your inbox to access additional folders to view closed conversations and more.
