New Zapier integration
We are thrilled to announce our new Zapier integration. By connecting TextUs to Zapier's extensive ecosystem, this integration allows you to easily automate your TextUs workflows through triggers and actions from over 8,000 different applications.
This integration makes it possible to drive engagement in countless new ways, including but not limited to the following:
Opt-out/ins: Easily add or remove contacts from your subscribed lists in Google sheets or a similar software based on contact communication preferences in real-time
SMS reminders: Automatically send SMS messages for key triggers like calendar events, abandoned shopping carts, and form enrollment
Create/Update Contacts: Add tags, notes, or alter key data about the contact when an update occurs in your chosen system of record
Enroll in sequences: Directly enroll all contacts who filled out a web form into a specific sequence
With Zapier, you can now build automated solutions for the above use cases and more within just a few minutes—no coding necessary.
This integration does not live on our Integrations page — instead it can be accessed from Zapier directly. To learn how to set this up, please see How to connect TextUs to Zapier.
Chrome Extension 4.0
This new version of our Chrome extension delivers all-around improvements, including faster load times, smoother navigation, and a more responsive experience. The extension has automatically updated to this new version; no manual update is required.
Due to the update, your extension settings may have been reset. For how to check and ensure all features you’d like to use are turned on, please see this guide.
You may notice a new permissions message from Chrome when enabling the updated version. While it may look alarming, it does not represent a change in how our extension operates, only in how Chrome now displays permissions.
What’s changing and why you see this message:
Our extension has always needed permission to “read and change data on websites” so it can detect phone numbers in your browser, which is required to enable click-to-text and support Find Numbers.
The extension inserts a small piece of HTML into the page you’re viewing to display the TextUs icon next to phone numbers. No other data is modified, collected, or stored beyond what is necessary for this functionality.
The latest Chrome update now requires us to explicitly display these permissions, even though the functionality has not changed.
Unfortunately, Google controls the language in that permission window, so we’re unable to make it sound less intimidating.
New feature:
This update also enables desktop notifications to appear when the extension is open, which requires adding “display notifications” to the permissions list.
Other improvements:
We’ve updated the message compose box across the application for faster loading times and a cleaner interface. All functionality remains the same and there are no drastic visual differences, but this work lays the foundation for exciting future enhancements.
